Red Jewel of The Deep Sea - Kinki

Kinki, a rare seasonal fish from the icy depths of 300-500 Meters off the coast of Hokkaido, is sustainably Hand-caught (手釣り) and expertly prepared using our signature charcoal sand grilling. This method enhances its rich, buttery texture and delicate umami flavor with a subtle smoky aroma, making it both healthy and delicious. Kinki offers an extraordinary taste of Japan that is rarely found in Malaysia.

While walk-ins may be accepted, reservations are recommended, especially during peak hours, to ensure you get a table. You can book through our reservation system on the website.

Sand-grilled fish is a signature cooking technique at Yaki Soul. We use Japanese grilling methods and local, carefully harvested fish. The fish is cooked in sand over charcoal to enhance texture and flavor. 

“Kinki” is a rare, seasonal fish caught by hand (手釣り) from 300-500 meters off the coast of Hokkaido. Its rich, buttery texture and umami flavor are elevated by our charcoal sand grilling.

The restaurant offers a Japanese izakaya vibe: a blend of fine dining and casual, with warm, maximalist décor, live music/band performances, and an ambience designed for socializing. 

Yes. While we are known for our fish and grilled fish dishes, there are other items on the menu (e.g. skewers, sides) that do not involve fish. If you have dietary restrictions, let us know and we’ll try to accommodate.

Currently, Yaki Soul is not a halal-certified restaurant as it serves alcohol and certain non-halal ingredients.
